Un Bellini per favore

Wherever I am, and it´s after five o´clock , weekday or holiday, I enjoy a Bellini if given the chance. It turns out the interpretation of this iconic drink, varies. For no obvious reason if you ask me. Some things come with a very fixed set of ingredients and a very specific way to go about making them. My favorite drink is no exception.

Celebrating with 15% discount on anything purchased online!
September15th, one year ago exactely, we celebrated our slight move up, but still on street level. New location, slightly bigger and slighty more costly. Much lighter than last location in Bygdøy Allé, but in a more quiet street perhaps? Less people walking by? Was this a smart move or did we make a decision we would regret?

Crossing the Pont Royal bridge and into the gardens leading up to the entrance to the Louvre with I.M.Pei´s glass pyramide elegantly placed in the middle of the square, you pass the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel. It is a glorious example of Corinthian style architecture and dates back to the beginning of 1800.

RISOTTO AI FUNGHI PORCINI
As we find ourselves in high porcini season, I remember one of the first times I visited the factory in Sansepolcro (Toscana), where we do all our cashmere sweaters, where I met Antonio´s mother. Antonio´s mother is not like most mothers. She is close to 80 years of age, has the energy of a 20 year old, speaks with the speed of light and has the charisma typically found in Italy. Antonio´s mother is no easy match when it comes to leaving after a factory visit. I mean, hey, there´s the garden to see! At all times of the year, she has something ripe and ready for show in her garden. And there is no such thing as «oh I´m so sorry, I must be off, I have a new appointment» etc. You´re there, and you stay there until Antonio´s mother says it´s ok to go! During one of these forced but wonderfully happy stays, she made me dinner and risotto was part of the meny. Risotto with porcini mushrooms. It was the best risotto I´ve ever had.

Summing up past and present, reflecting upon inspiring results and joyous encounters…there is simply so much good happening all at the same time. Product development. Happy encounters. A nice increase in sales as trends tend to point downwards. But best of all, is the confirmation that there are so many souls out there, not following the crowds!
